Small Business Saturday | 2016

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are enjoying the beginning of Christmas time. I'm finally done bahumbug-ing about Christmas music and decorations and am accepting everyones excitement for the season. One of my favorite parts of the beginnings of it all is Small Business Saturday and I think all of us small business bosses think it's the bomb.

I wanted to share with you guys a few of my favorite small businesses. Today is the perfect day show off some super cool people doing super cool things. Be sure to share your favorites in the comments. I'd love to check them out (and maybe finally decide what I'm getting my family for Christmas)!

There's a good chance that I've already told you about Purpose Box. It's one of my absolute favorite things. Purpose Box is a bi-monthly subscription box full of items that give back to various causes and each box itself supports a cause. December's box is helping to send 2 women from Rwanda to College! Head over to their Instagram to see what was inside of the previous boxes and learn a little more about purchasing with purpose!

Ugh. Guys. Summer Moon Coffee was my newest obsession this summer. Wil and I took a few trips to Austin and stayed nearby one and fell in love. We may or may not have gone everyday we were there, and by that I actually mean we went twice a day. We didn't think anything about them could get better... Until we found out they were opening a new location in San Antonio. Be obsessed with us.

One of the hardest things for me when I'm buying presents is wanting to get people things that are unique. I'm always searching for the thing that screams "I bet you know exactly who needs me!" So, in comes Lone Star Gal Designs. With some of the cutest resin earrings I've ever seen I couldn't not share these with y'all. There's basically something for everyone here and all the glitter anyone could ever want.

I actually got hooked on Nutty Snacks from a Purpose Box box. I somehow ended up with extra bags from family members who also got the box (absconded with, whatever). I might have hoarded them because I asked Wil if he wanted me to order them a while back and he said he's never tried any... Whoops! They are another business that gives back which will make you love them all the more. And hello! Talk about being a great and tasty idea for stocking stuffers!

I've loved Poor Pitiful Pearl for years. I think if you asked Wil what my favorite clothing brand is this is exactly what he would tell you. I do not own enough of their stuff but when I buy clothes again you can bet that they will all be from PPP. Everything is handmade and one of a kind and there's even clothes for the little munchkins in your life. The PPP motto is "It's a Lifestyle" and believe me when I say that as soon as you put your first thing on and receive the nonstop compliments you will wish that PPP was all you owned too.

And more coffee because, have you met me? This time it's beans. Beans that Wil and I are pretty sure are our favorite beans in the world and it's not just because of the good this company is doing. Land of a Thousand Hills "partners with farmers and local community leaders to develop the coffee into a sustainable income, pay a just Living Wage, and strive to further meet the needs of the people." They take "drink coffee, do good" very seriously and their passion shows through the quality.
