"For God alone,
O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock
& my salvation, my fortress;
I shall not be shaken."
I had the opportunity to break my photography routine this week and create something solely for myself. I'm always hearing people preach about how important it is for creatives to take the time to do something out of the ordinary or to try something new. Last year I tried making a computer wallpaper for myself for the Bible verse that I was working on memorizing: Ezra 10:4. I've made a few other pictures on my phone for my personal Instagram since then, but nothing that I've really put a lot of time and effort in to. Lately I've been learning the importance of just slowing down and taking things one day at a time. Not fretting over what's going to happen in the next year or what more I need to be doing. Just taking things as they come and trusting in Him for the things that I cannot control.
This picture below was exactly that; I plugged my settings into the camera, selected my focus, and then just let nature do it's thing. I couldn't stage that light or plan that gentle breeze. I didn't cause the flowers to grow so tall and then dry up yet still maintain their perfection. There was only so little that I could control and yet the picture turned up beautifully.
I guess that's life, isn't it? Sometimes you just have to wait in silence, adjust what you can, and gracefully accept the rest.
